Dates Milkshake

Here's a unique twist on the classic dates milkshake, combining flavors and textures for a rich, creamy, and flavorful drink.

Caramelized Dates & Nut Milkshake

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Medjool dates (pitted)
  • 2 cups of cold almond milk (or regular milk)
  • 1 tbsp ghee (clarified butter) or unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional for extra sweetness)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup roasted almonds (for a nutty crunch)
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream (optional for a creamier texture)
  • Crushed ice (optional)
  • Chopped pistachios and dates (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Caramelize the dates:
    Heat the ghee in a small pan over medium heat. Add the pitted dates and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they soften and begin to caramelize. The ghee enhances the flavor of the dates, adding richness to the milkshake.
  2. Blend the dates:
    Transfer the caramelized dates to a blender. Add 1/2 cup of almond milk and blend until the dates turn into a smooth paste. This will create a rich, sweet base for the milkshake.
  3. Add the other ingredients:
    Pour in the remaining almond milk, cardamom powder, cinnamon, roasted almonds, and honey. Blend everything together until smooth and creamy. You can also add the vanilla ice cream at this stage for an extra indulgent version.
  4. Cool it down:
    If you prefer a chilled milkshake, add a handful of crushed ice to the blender and blend until the ice is fully incorporated.
  5. Serve and garnish:
    Pour the milkshake into glasses. Garnish with chopped pistachios and dates for a burst of color and added texture.
  6. Optional: Add a drizzle of honey or caramel syrup on top for extra flair.

Tips:

  • For a vegan version, substitute the ghee with coconut oil and use plant-based vanilla ice cream.
  • You can also add a small pinch of saffron for a luxurious twist.
